Ezri Konsa boost, Kamara, Bailey form and what next for Aston Villa in transfer window - Q&A live

Aston Villa’s pre-season is running smoothly in Australia with Steven Gerrard’s squad enjoying a day off today following their win over Leeds United on Sunday. New signing Boubacar Kamara has got Villa supporters rightly excited given his brilliant, game-controlling 45 minutes at the weekend while, this week, head coach Gerrard is expected to ring the changes for Villa’s clash with Brisbane Roar up in Townsville (July 20, 10.45am UK-time).

As Gerrard revealed just yesterday, Ezri Konsa is now back available having returned two months ahead of schedule following a knee injury. The 24-year-old will bolster Villa’s ranks at the back while Gerrard has been mightily impressed with 17-year-old Josh Feeney during the club’s tour so far. Elsewhere, Ludwig Augustinsson is primed for his Villa debut in the week as Gerrard plans to get as many minutes into his players’ legs as possible ahead of the new campaign.

As ever on a Monday morning, BirminghamLive’s Aston Villa writer Ashley Preece will be hosting a live Q&A from his base in Brisbane. Are you happy with Villa’s squad or does more quality need adding in the transfer window? Who has surprised you so far in pre-season? What’s your take on the contract situations involving Carney Chukwuemeka and Douglas Luiz? Get your questions in the comments section below or, alternatively, click here to jump straight into the debate. The Q&A session will get underway from 8am UK-time onwards (5pm here in Brisbane).
