'Expected to table offer' - Journalist says Spurs bid for 'incredible' player could be imminent

Journalist Ryan Taylor of The Daily Express has shared his own update amid the big developments surrounding Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Djed Spence.

A plethora of reports over the last 24 hours have heavily linked Spurs to the signing of Middlesbrough’s star wing-back with Football Insider first stating that the Lilywhites are in advanced talks.

Following on, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano then claimed talks are ‘on’ for the 21-year-old and the ‘coming days’ may well be crucial in determining Spence’s future.

Now, as per Taylor, another update has come to light as manager Antonio Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici plot his signing.

According to the reporter, a fee hasn’t yet been agreed for Spence but an offer is expected to be tabled in the coming days.

He explained:

“Nothing agreed yet between Tottenham & Middlesbrough for Djed Spence but Spurs expected to table offer (£20m) in coming days.”

We believe the Championship starlet is a fine contender to be Spurs’ third summer signing after they completed deals for both Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

Spence dazzled on loan at Nottingham Forest over 2021/2022, becoming a real untouchable for manager Steve Cooper whilst being called an ‘incredible‘ player in their push for Premier League promotion by Alan Hutton.

The wing-back’s addition would also help to balance out Tottenham’s homegrown quota, a really worrying issue which is reported to be a major factor in their summer dealings.

For around £20m, if Boro agree, Spence’s arrival would come as an almighty boost for Conte.
