Exeter City Women make first summer signings

Exeter City’s men may not have made any summer signings yet, but the women have made three additions to the squad. Emma Hunt and Emily Eaton arrived with the Grecians on Friday, following the arrival of Ocean Latto the previous week.

Hunt returns to Exeter after previously playing for the Girls Development Centre for four years. At 16 she departed to Torquay United and was ever present for the Gulls last term.

Captaining her team to County Cup victory over the Grecians, Hunt was also recognised with the Manager's Player of the Year award. The young defender now looks to make the next step in her career by playing at National League level.

Also arriving from the Gulls is 17-year-old Latto. She was voted Young Player of the Year for the Gulls last season, impressed in the County Cup Final, and with a full season of Senior football now aiding her development, she joins the Grecians to offer competition on the left side of defence and midfield.

Eaton joins after spending the majority of last season at Plymouth Argyle. The versatile midfielder played nineteen games, scoring in victories at Keynsham and Cardiff. Eaton had previously played for Marine Academy, where she featured alongside City's Anthea Kaptein and Jaydee Seaman.

City's joint manager Abbie Britton has been left delighted to secure the signing of one of the team's Summer targets. She said: “Emma Hunt is a young defender who we are pleased to see back in Red and White. She's very strong, has great tenacity and a desire to win the ball back at every opportunity. We are excited to see what she will learn from the other experienced defenders. One for the future of this club for sure."
