Ex-Queen's Park defender joins Hamilton Accies
Hamilton Accies have signed former Queen of the South and Queen's Park defender Michael Doyle.
The experienced full-back is John Rankin's second signing of the summer, having impressed while on trial at the club.
The 30-year-old spent time at Accies as a youth, before moving on to Celtic and Kilmarnock. His first senior appearances were with the Rugby Park club.- He was released by Queen' Park at the end of last season.
Doyle told Hamilton Accies' website: "I am delighted to be here. This is where it all started for me, and I have always kept a close eye on the club’s results - now I am back here again.
"The changing room is fantastic. I am really looking forward to being part of that and doing what I can to help this team in the season ahead.”
Head coach John Rankin said: "Michael is a fantastic signing for this football club. He is a great leader to have in our dressing room and will be a huge asset for the squad’s younger players to learn from.
“He is a fantastic defender with a wealth of experience, and we have been really impressed with his fitness levels from the first day of pre-season.”
Doyle and midfielder Jonny Ngandu go into Saturday's squad for the Premier Sports Cup opener at Dundee.
