Ex-Man United manager Jose Mourinho ordered to leave Turkish football as huge row erupts

Galatasaray captain Fernando Muslera has told Jose Mourinho to leave the Turkish Super Lig amid speculation of a Premier League comeback.

'The Special One' was last seen in the English top flight managing Tottenham, where he got the axe in 2021. Following disappointment in north London and a mixed tenure at Manchester United, it's evident Mourinho's fortunes have dwindled since his second Chelsea departure.

Earlier this year, Roma also let him go despite securing the Conference League trophy under his leadership in 2022. Mourinho then took the helm at Fenerbahce this summer, who are currently trailing five points behind adversaries Galatasaray.

The iconic tactician is visibly frustrated with the league and its officiating, evidenced by his animated displays on the touchline. Linked with a shift to Newcastle, Mourinho now faces outspoken criticism from Gala's skipper for his negative comments about Turkish football and referees.

"The insults towards Turkish football and the fact that he is attacking some referees are things that bother me," Muslera told Turkiye Today (via The Mirror). "This is the first time in 14 years that I feel obliged to make such a speech. I won 17 trophies in 14 years. If we consider my contribution, my constant aim is to advance Turkish football.
