Ex-Bok captain Francois Pienaar part of consortium taking over Saracens
Former Springbok captain and 1995 Rugby World Cup winner Francois Pienaar is part of the consortium taking over English rugby club Saracens.
Word of the takeover first broke in October last year, but on Wednesday afternoon, Kimono House Limited completed the deal worth £32 million.
Pienaar is no stranger to the English giants, having played for the club.
According to The Rugby Paper, he made 44 appearances for Saracens and also operated in the capacity of player-coach.
Sharks owner Marco Masotti is another member of Kimon House Limited that, along with Pienaar, includes Paul O'Shea, Nick Leslau, Neil Golding and Dominic Silvester.
According to reports, Kimon House Limited will hold a controlling stake in the club, but Nigel Wray, Saracens' owner for the past 26 years, will keep a large minority shareholding.
