Ex-Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere signs for Danish side AGF

Jack Wilshere is finally leaving Arsenal’s training ground as he has signed a deal to join Danish side AGF.

The 30-year-old has been without a club since he was released by Bournemouth nine months ago.

After failing to secure a new club before the start of the season, Mikel Arteta allowed Wilshere to return to Arsenal in October in order to train with the team at London Colney.

Arteta ruled out a temporary deal to re-sign Wilshere but the midfielder is now on the verge of announcing his switch to the Danish Superliga.

Wilshere has signed a contract until the end of the season with AGF and will wear the club’s No.10 shirt.

AGF are currently seventh in the Danish Superliga with four games remaining. The league then splits into two groups – championship and relegation.

Speaking before the start of the January transfer window, Wilshere made it clear that he was keen to move to a new club as quickly as possible.

‘It’s a big month for me,’ Wilshere told talkSPORT.

‘I always said when I went back to Arsenal to train to get fit, it was for January.

‘Now we’re at January, I’m 30 at the start of it and I’ll see where it takes me. I’m obviously looking for a team and see what comes up.

‘If we go past January… how long can you be without a club and not playing week in, week out? Big month.’
