'Everything is in our hands' - Arsenal star Bukayo Saka gives verdict on Man City Premier League title race

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has insisted that the Premier League title race remains in the Gunners' hands despite Manchester City closing the gap last weekend.

City beat Southampton 4-1 on Saturday as Erling Haaland returned from injury and continued his devastating form. Pep Guardiola's side were then able to watch on as Arsenal spurned a two-goal lead at Anfield to draw 2-2 with Liverpool.

The result means that if the Blues win all their remaining matches, including against the Gunners later this month, they will retain their Premier League crown. However, in an interview with the club's official website, Saka is adamant that the title is in Mikel Arteta's hands.

He explained: "As players, we really want to do this. We know that everything is in our hands and we just have to keep going game by game.

"If we win these last eight games and get some good results, the title can be ours, so we just have to stay focused. It’s a long season and we have to be consistent all the way through, so that’s what we’ll try to do.

"I wouldn’t say [the Man City game] is the final, but maybe the semi-final because it’s massive, and so important as both teams are fighting at the top. It’s really close so it’ll be a massive game."

This weekend will be another pivotal chapter in the title race. City host Leicester in the late Saturday kick-off while Arsenal travel to West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
