Every word Erik ten Hag said in Manchester United press conference ahead of Brighton fixture

Erik ten Hag spoke to the press on Friday afternoon as he previewed Manchester United's trip to face Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

United travel to West London in search of three points and a much improved performance as they look to put things right after their disappointing opening weekend defeat to Brighton last time out.

The United manager gave early team news ahead of the match, with forward Anthony Martial and defender Victor Lindelof both ruled out of the match. He also backed Marcus Rashford to have a long-term role at the club amid Paris Saint-Germain's interest in his signing.

Erik ten Hag says Cristiano Ronaldo is in contention to start for Manchester United against Brentford on Saturday but Anthony Martial is still out.

Martial is still unavailable with a hamstring injury he sustained in the friendly defeat to Atletico Madrid in Oslo two weeks ago.

United agreed a fee of £15million rising to £20m for Rabiot on Saturday as they attempt to reinforce their central midfield.

The club withdrew from a move for Bologna forward
