Every Premier League transfer completed by Nottingham Forest's rivals so far

The summer transfer window may have only just opened today (June 10) but clubs have already been making moves in the market ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Preparations continue to be underway at the City Ground where Steve Cooper is building a squad capable of competing in the Premier League for the first time in 23 years; the wait continues, however, to see who they will face at the start of the season.

Forest recently announced their retained and released list with Tobias Figueired, Gaetan Bong and Carl Jenkinson set to depart the City Ground; discussions are ongoing with Lewis Grabban over new terms for the striker on the banks of the River Trent.

One of thee Reds' Midlands neighbours, Aston Villa, have been the busiest so far in the transfer market. Villans boss Steven Gerrard is moulding together a strong team with five signings to date - Phillipe Coutinho (Barcelona) £17m, Boubacar Kamara (Marseille) Free, Diego Carlos (Sevilla) £26m, Robin Olsen (Roma) Undisclosed.

Newcastle United have also been busy, albeit with departures rather than arrivals. Oisin McEntee (Walsall) and Mo Sangare (Accrington) have both departed on free transfers whilst Isaac Hayden heads to Norwich City on a loan move. The Magpies have, however, signed Matt Targett permanently from Villa.

There are several areas of the pitch that Cooper knows could do with improvements ahead of the new season. The priority is up-front where the Reds have only Sam Surridge and Lyle Taylor contracted for the season - discussions are ongoing with Grabban and the Reds hope to sign Keinan Davis from Villa.
