Every Germany player Scotland could face at Euro 2024 as Julian Nagelsmann delivers 4 surprise snubs

Julian Nagelsmann has decided to snub Champions League heroes Mats Hummels and Julian Brandt for Germany’s Euro 2024 squad.

The hugely experienced defender and midfielder, who were part of the German World Cup triumph in Brazil back in 2014 , have both played big parts in getting Borussia Dortmund into next month’s final against Real Madrid. It hasn’t been enough to force them into the 27 man squad that Nagelmann has named for Euro 2024 and the pre-tournament friendlies against Ukraine and Greece.

Nagelsmann will cut his squad by one before the finals but he has preferred to stick by the squad that impressively saw off France and Netherlands in March as the hosts found form ahead of a glory bid in their own backyard. Die Mannschaft kick-off Euro 2024 against Scotland on June 14 in Munich. The goalkeepers are Oliver Baumann, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Alex Nuebel and Manuel Neuer.

Newly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are heavily represented, starting with defender Jonathan Tah. Waldemar Anton, Benjamin Henrichs, Joshua Kimmich, Robin Koch, Maximilian Mittelstaedt, David Raum, Antonio Rudiger and Nico Schlotterbeck make up the German back line options.

Recall Toni Kroos leads the midfield, with Leroy Sane, Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musical, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Pascal Gros, Chris Furhrich and Robert Andrich. The attacking options are Kai Havertz, Thomas Mueller, Deniz Under, Niclas Fuellkrug and Maximilian Beier.

Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka and Timo Werner, along with the injured Serge Gnabry also miss out. Scotland boss Steve Clarke is set to name his squad next Wednesday with pre-tournament games against Gibraltar and Finland to come.
