Everton: Takeover talks now 'unlikely to be resurrected' at Goodison Park

Everton’s hopes of a takeover by a consortium led by Peter Kenyon and the Kaminski family don’t look like they’re going to be resurrected, according to Paul Brown of the Daily Star.

The consortium’s period of exclusivity expired last Friday, with no agreement reached as of yet.

With the consortium’s period of exclusivity now elapsing, this means that the period in which the time in which the consortium could speak directly with Farhad Moshiri is now over, with no agreement settled.

According to The Athletic, sources close to Moshiri insisted that it was him who walked away from talks, with his sole focus being on improving the Everton squad for the upcoming season, and securing funding for the club’s new stadium.

However, the same report suggests that the Kaminski consortium have denied these claims, and that communication and dialogue was still open between the consortium and Moshiri.

Whilst there is nothing to suggest that the consortium cannot try and resuscitate the deal, Moshiri is now free to speak to other interested parties, but the consortium’s offer is still there should Moshiri change his mind.

But Jones believes that this is likely the end of the Kenyon-Kaminski consortium’s hope of a takeover of the club.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “When your period of exclusivity runs out and you’re no closer to striking a deal than you were at the beginning of that term, it doesn’t really look good for you as a group.

“It doesn’t seem to me like that one’s going to be resurrected personally.”

Moshiri and the Kaminski group’s stances regarding the takeover have not moved forward, so it is extremely unlikely that a deal for the takeover will be resuscitated anytime soon.
