Everton settle on Chelsea legend Frank Lampard as man to replace Rafa Benitez as club's new manager - Report

Frank Lampard will be the new manager of Everton, according to a report in the Telegraph. The Chelsea legend emerged as one of the key contenders to succeed Rafa Benitez following his departure earlier in the month.

Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri feels Lampard is the right man to steer the club away from the relegation zone and lift them up the table in the following seasons. It is being suggested Lampard will be at the Goodison Park helm early next week.

Should Lampard take the reins, his first game in charge will be a clash with Brentford in the FA Cup. While a cup run would be welcomed, the priority will be to steer the club away from danger.
