Many Everton supporters could be forgiven for wanting to have a summer break from football after the trials and tribulations of last season.

But for Blues keen to look ahead, a number of key dates should already be in the diary. More are set to be added as the club's pre-season plans continue to take shape.

From the first glimpse at next season's squad to the date the Premier League fixtures will be announced, this is a run-down of Everton's summer timeline.

The first landmark of the summer is set to be next week when the club's retained list is revealed. Gylfi Sigurdsson, Fabian Delph, Andy Lonergan, Cenk Tosun and Jonjoe Kenny are all out of contract and this will be the moment it is revealed whether any of those remain. Tosun has confirmed he will leave and, of the remaining players, Kenny is thought to be the most likely to be offered a new deal.

The Premier League is expected to release the lists of each club at the end of the week, though Everton may publicise their departures first. West Ham, Brentford and relegated Watford have already published their lists.

The squad will return for pre-season at the beginning of July, giving the coaching team five weeks to work with them before the start of the new season. The fixtures will come out before then - and are scheduled to be released at 9am on June 16, the date on which the search for Merseyside derbies and trips across the country will take place.
