Everton now make 'enquiry' for £30m star at Goodison Park

Everton have made an enquiry into the availability of Watford striker Joao Pedro, joining Newcastle in the race for his signature this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie.

Frank Lampard has overseen a busy few months of business at Goodison Park but can still add to his squad ahead of the September 1 deadline.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have submitted a fresh £30 million bid for the Hornets striker after previously having a £17.5 million offer rejected.

The report states that Watford are now considering whether to accept while talks are continuing over the structure of the payments and how add-ons will be achieved.

Everton are on the hunt for striker reinforcements after losing Richarlison to Tottenham earlier this summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also continuing to struggle with a knee injury, leaving Salomon Rondon as Lampard’s only fit and specialist striker.

Pedro was left out of Watford’s clash with Preston on Saturday with manager Rob Edwards saying the Brazilian was yet to recover from a calf injury.

Elsewhere, it is understood that the Toffees are also interested in signing Southampton’s Che Adams as well as Blackburn Rovers marksman Ben Brereton Diaz.

Football Insider have reported that Adama Traore has also been targeted with Lampard reportedly eager to bolster his attacking options in the wake of Chelsea’s pursuit of Anthony Gordon.

Downie understands that Everton have made an enquiry into the availability of Watford striker Pedro ahead of the imminent deadline.
