Everton lineups as Tom Davies and Lewis Dobbin decisions made at Arsenal

I’m torn on this line-up. I’m tempted to say Lampard should use this as his opportunity to give a few squad players time so he can carry on his assessment of them before the summer.

He has had no opportunity to look at anyone, including youngsters, with the pressure off. However, while Arsenal look set to miss out on fourth they are in the hunt and after spending weeks hoping others with nothing to play for would remain competitive, I feel the team has to be relatively serious.

Leapfrogging Southampton is also an ambition that does hold financial value. So it’s a bit of a mix from me. Andre Gomes has started the last two games and I would give him another chance to see whether he can influence a Premier League game. I’d bring back Jonjoe Kenny, who is out of contract and who Lampard might want another look at.

Jarrad Branthwaite also comes back in to see whether he can convince Lampard he can be a squad player, as opposed to gaining experience on loan, next year after some impressive performances this season. I’m tempted to start Asmir Begovic.

I like the narrative of England #1 Jordan Pickford facing Aaron Ramsdale, his main rival, but Pickford has been brilliant recently and should not have anything to prove. If anything he has more to lose by putting him at the mercy of lazy comparisons today. Alex Iwobi moves into centre midfield against his old side and I have Richarlison playing off Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Seamus Coleman gets a rest after his recent heroics and at half time I’d be looking to give Dele Alli another opportunity and, if the situation allows, a few minutes to some U23s.

Begovic, Mykolenko, Holgate, Keane, Branthwaite, Kenny, Gomes, Doucoure, Iwobi, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.
