Everton: Lampard now 'wants to sign' £197k-a-week trio at Goodison Park

Everton manager Frank Lampard wants to sign Chelsea trio Ross Barkley, Billy Gilmour and Michy Batshuayi this summer, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

All three players have been linked to Goodison Park, though Phillips doubts the Merseyside club will complete the hat-trick.

At the end of July, 90min reported that Everton had held talks over re-signing Barkley.

The attacking midfielder left the Toffees for Chelsea back in 2018, but things have not worked out for him. Last season, he made just one start in the Premier League, showing just how far he currently is from Tuchel’s plans.

As well as Barkley, the same 90min report states that Everton are also interested in Gilmour and Batshuayi.

Combined, Barkley, Gilmour and Batshuayi are currently earning £197,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, according to salary sport.

Phillips says Everton are indeed keen on Barkley, Gilmour and Batshuayi. However, the journalist has told GIVEMESPORT that when it comes to the Belgium international, Lampard is the one pushing for that deal specifically.

Speaking to GMS, Phillips said: “Lampard wants all three. Obviously, Everton might have a different opinion on that, a different view, but Lampard obviously would like to sign Michy Batshuayi.

“I don’t think that’s going to happen at the moment, because I think that’s being more pushed from Lampard’s side than the club’s side. Billy Gilmour is one I do expect to happen on loan.”

Out of Barkley, Gilmour and Batshuayi, you would probably have to say it is the last of that trio.

Up front is a problem area for the Toffees right now. They have lost Richarlison to Tottenham, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin recently picked up an injury in training ahead of his side’s season opener against Chelsea.
