Everton ‘have chance’ of signing ‘devastating’ £30m striker at Goodison Park

Everton ‘have a chance’ of signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja in the current transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Toffees are believed to be in the market for attacking reinforcements following the departure of Richarlison, who joined Tottenham Hotspur in a £60 million deal.

A recent report from The Athletic revealed that Broja is Everton’s ‘number one target’ as manager Frank Lampard looks to bolster his options in the final third of the pitch.

The 6 foot 3 Albania international made a big impression while on loan at Southampton throughout 2020/21, registering nine goals and one assist in 38 appearances across all competitions.

And it seems as though Broja’s impressive performances on the south coast have caught the eye of a number of Premier League sides.

Sky Sports claim that West Ham United have made a £30m bid for the Albania international’s services, while the Saints and Newcastle are also listed amongst his potential suitors.

Broja is believed to be eager to move to a side that can offer him regular game time, though, and that’s where Everton may have the upper hand over the Hammers.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl described Broja as “devastating” last season, and it’s little surprise that the 20-year-old is now attracting so much attention.

And Jones believes that a switch to West Ham may be the most appealing option for the forward at this moment in time over Everton due to their contrasting fortunes in recent years.
