European wrap: Girona move three points clear in Spain

Girona moved three points clear at the top of La Liga as Yangel Herrera's stoppage-time goal clinched a 1-0 home win against Celta Vigo.

Herrera fired home from outside the penalty area in the first minute of added time to seal Girona's third straight win since losing for the only time this season against Real Madrid in September.

Girona have won nine of their first 11 league matches, while Real Madrid and Barcelona, second and third in the table respectively, face each other in El Clasico on Saturday.

Nice climbed top of Ligue 1 after Hicham Boudaoui's goal clinched them a 1-0 win at lowly Clermont and extended their unbeaten league start to 10 matches.

Boudaoui's second-half winner lifted Nice two points clear of second-placed Monaco, who play at Lille on Sunday, and was their sixth win in seven games.

Tom Kraus scored a stoppage-time equaliser for the Bundesliga's bottom club Mainz, but their winless league run was extended to nine league games after a 2-2 draw at fellow strugglers Bochum.

Bochum defender Keven Schlotterbeck scored at both ends after Kevin Stoger had given the home side a half-time lead before Mainz midfielder Kraus struck in the fifth minute of added time.

Albert Gudmundsson's first-half goal secured Genoa a 1-0 home win against Salernitana, whose winless run in Serie A was extended to 10 matches.
