European champions and still at Old Trafford - where are David Moyes' Manchester United team 10 years on?
Manchester United face David Moyes’ West Ham this weekend almost exactly 10 years to the day since the Scot took charge of the Reds against the Hammers.
The Reds beat West Ham 3-1 at Old Trafford back in December 2013, with Danny Welbeck, Adnan Januzaj and Ashley Young scoring for the hosts in their last match before Christmas, as Carlton Cole struck a consolation for the Hammers.
Moyes’ presence in the dugout is not the only similarity between the 2013 clash and the game we will witness this weekend. Following the victory nearly a decade ago, United sat in seventh place, with 28 points from 17 games. Newcastle sat one place ahead with 30 points from 17.

Likewise, Erik ten Hag’s men are currently in seventh, with the exact same number of points from the same number of games as Moyes’ men had gained a decade earlier. They are again one position behind Newcastle in sixth, although the Toon Army have one fewer point from their 17 Premier League games than they had gained in 2013.
The similarities don't end there. Jonny Evans started for United against the Hammers in December 2013. The club have hired and fired plenty of managers since Moyes took his place in the United dugout, but Evans may well again find himself in the starting XI as the Reds face West Ham a decade on from their 3-1 victory over the same opposition.
