Europa League draw live start time and how to watch as Manchester United await opponents

Manchester United will today discover their opponents in the group stage of this season's Europa League.

Erik ten Hag's side looked set to endure a season without European football after their eighth-place Premier League finish last season. However, their heroics at Wembley in the FA Cup final against Manchester City saw them secure a spot in this season's Europa League.

United last competed in Europe's secondary club competition in 2022/23. Having finished second in their group, they beat Barcelona in a play-off round but were unable to find a way past Sevilla in the quarter-finals having beaten Real Betis in the round of 16.

United will hope to be dining at Europe's top table again next season in the Champions League, but the Europa League offers the chance of a deep run into the latter stages of a European tournament and hopefully more silverware.

There will be a new draw format this season. All teams will be drawn out of a hat, but automated software will be used to pick their eight opponents, two from each of the four pots, which are seeded based on the UEFA coefficient.

Teams cannot be drawn against sides from their own country and can only play a maximum of two sides from one nation.
