Euro round-up: O'Brien double not enough for Lyon

Cork's Jake O’Brien found the net twice for Lyon but it wasn’t enough as they lost 3-2 to 10-man Lens in Ligue 1.

The defender, who signed for the French side in August, put the basement club into the lead in the 14th minute before Wesley Saïd and Przemyslaw Frankowski, from the penalty spot, pit Lens ahead as they tried to recover from their Champions League mauling by Arsenal.

O’Brien drew Lyon level again in the 72nd minute but Lyon, who lost Florian Sotoca to a red card in the final moments, found a winner as Frankowski scored his second.

Elsewehere, Florent Mollet's goal was the difference for Nantes to beat Nice 1-0.

Real Madrid returned to the top of the La Liga table with a 2-0 win against struggling Granada.

Rodrygo continued his impressive scoring streak with his seventh goal in his last five Real appearances to seal victory at the Bernabeu following Brahim Diaz's first-half opener.

It means Real are now tied on 38 points with Girona at the top after Cristhian Stuani's late brace saw the latter beat Valencia 2-1.
