Euro 2022: Ian Wright sings Ella Toone and Alessia Russo chant in brilliant clip

Celebrations continue to roll out all over the nation after England Women made history by winning their first ever major tournament title on Sunday.

After 56 years, the Lionesses brought a trophy home for the country by defeating Germany 2-1 in the Euro 2022 final.

Just as he has been throughout the entire competition, Ian Wright was extremely vocal in his support for Sarina Wiegman’s record-breaking side.

The Arsenal legend was part of the BBC punditry panel for Euro 2022, joining the likes of Gabby Logan, Alex Scott and Fara Williams.

Wright went viral on several occasions with his animated celebrations, hilarious videos and passionate speeches throughout the tournament.

One of his latest videos was a post prior to England’s history-making final win. Wright recorded himself singing a song for Ella Toone and Alessia Russo — both of whom played huge parts in their country’s first ever European title win.

The former forward could hardly contain his excitement as he sung the chant to the tune of ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’ by Status Quo.

Toone scored the opening goal for the Lionesses in the final against Germany before Chloe Kelly bagged the winner in extra time.

Russo finished as the tournament’s third-highest goalscorer after scoring four. Both United stars made a gigantic splash on the international stage, setting themselves up for an exciting future as senior England players.

Wright’s clip has been viewed almost 300,000 times and has pulled in more than 24,000 likes and hundreds of comments from passionate women’s football fans.

He is undoubtedly one of the biggest male advocates for women’s football and that isn’t just limited to international tournaments either. As a Gunner through and through, he is always
