Euro 2022 final could break attendance record as Wembley tickets sell out

Tickets for this summer’s Euro 2022 final at Wembley have sold out in under an hour, according to the official UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Twitter account. 

This year’s competition, which will be the 13th edition of the Women’s European Championship, will be held in England, having been postponed by 12 months because of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

England last hosted the tournament in 2005, when it featured just eight teams, but Euro 2022 will see 16 nations compete. 

Ten venues will be used in total, including Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford and St Mary’s Stadium. 

Demand for the tournament, in general, has been extremely high, with tickets only released early on Monday morning. 

And the official Euro’s ticketing account confirmed that tickets for the final at Wembley, which has a capacity of 90,000, have already sold out.

Equally, England’s group-stage matches against Norway at the Brighton Community Stadium and against Northern Ireland at St Mary’s are both sell-outs as well.
