Euro 2022: Chelsea's Zećira Mušović slams VAR decision from Sweden vs Switzerland
Swedish goalkeeper Zećira Mušović has slammed a VAR decision made during her side’s Euro 2022 match against Switzerland.
The 26-year-old, who plays for Chelsea in the Women’s Super League, fumed about the decision to disallow Sweden’s third goal on Twitter.
With Sweden leading Switzerland 2-1 in the 87th minute, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd slid the ball across to Rebecka Blomqvist, who slotted it past the goalkeeper first time.
The goal was then ruled out by VAR, however, with officials claiming Blomqvist was offside when Rytting Kaneryd delivered her pass.
According to Fotbollskanalen, Sweden have appealed the decision to UEFA, claiming VAR did not draw the offside line in the correct place. Mušović then repeated the complaint in her Twitter post.
