Escape To Freight Island food festival is giving away ‘free pints’

Kantina, the returning food festival at Escape To Freight Island, is giving away free pints for its weekend event. The event happens this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the sprawling Mayfield Depot site, and the free pints can be claimed by the first 2000 signing up.

The weekender is bringing together a host of top food & drink folks from across the UK, as well as celebrating our local talent too. Tom Brown from Cornerstone in London will be heading north, as will Lap-fai Lee from The Foodist in Birmingham, Ronnie Aronica from the acclaimed Bench in Sheffield, Budgie Montoya from Sarap in London, John Chantarasak from London’s AngloThai and Richard Turner, formerly of Hawksmoor and Pitt Cue.

There will also be a supper club from Luke French from JÖRO in Sheffield, a cocktail pop-up from Soho House, Michelin Star Oysters from Brad Carter, a pop-up from South Indian street food legends Bundobust and Manchester’s own Pippy Eats.

The sessions run from 4pm to 1am on Friday (June 10), 12pm to 1am on Saturday (June 11) and 12pm to 9pm on Sunday (June 12). As well as the top flight food, there will also be entertainment going on through the day, from live bands to DJs.

Tickets are free for the event, and can be scooped at the Escape To Freight Island website.
