Erling Haaland sends ominous message to the Premier League after Nottingham Forest hat-trick

Erling Haaland has sent an ominous message to the rest of the Premier League following his hat-trick against Nottingham Forest.

From the first whistle, City dominated the ball and they were ahead inside the opening 15 minutes as Haaland prodded home a Phil Foden Cross. It was two on 23 minutes as Haaland comfortably tapped home a Foden pass after Dean Henderson misplaced a goal kick.

Haaland had his hat-trick on 38 minutes. Foden was once again involved as his header found John Stones who nodded it across to the Norwegian to head home. After the break City made it four on the 50th minute when Joao Cancelo scored a wonderful strike into the top left hand corner.

Julian Alvarez would get in on the act in the 65th and 87th minute scoring two fine strikes to leave Forest well and truly beaten.

After the match, Haaland spoke to BT Sport and sent a scary message to the rest of the division. "Amazing, nothing more to say," he said when asked about his performance.

"I love playing here, you can see it and it is amazing. It was about keep doing what we did against Palace. All about play, play, play.

"It has been good so far [at City] so I am not complaining. I try to listen as much as I can to Pep.

"There are amazing footballers here, which you can see as I wouldn't score as many goals without them. We play so good, we will become even better.

"It is important to keep going. There is going to be a lot of games, we have to enjoy it as much as we can."
