Erling Haaland injury latest ahead of Man City clash with Nottingham Forest

It remains unclear whether Erling Haaland will travel with the Manchester City squad to the East Midlands for their Premier League match with Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The 23-year-old missed City's 4-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday with an unspecified injury. Phil Foden netted a brace as Kevin De Bruyne and Julian Alvarez were also on the scoresheet on the south coast.

Pep Guardiola's side are now just one point behind leaders Arsenal, who stunned Chelsea with a 5-0 win earlier this week. Mikel Arteta's side will head to Tottenham for the north London derby on Sunday.

Haaland meanwhile, has been an injury concern for Guardiola. He missed City's FA Cup win over Chelsea and requested to come off during the Champions League quarter-final defeat to Real Madrid last week.

When asked about whether Haaland could be available for Sunday, the City boss said after the win on Thursday: "I spoke with him, and he says he feels better, I don't know."

Injury analyst Ben Dinnery has suggested it would be 'sensible' to manage the Norwegian's return to fitness for the remainder of the season. Speaking to MEN Sport on behalf of Crypto Casino, he said: "It's a risk and reward. I heard Pep talk about the injury crisis and the demands. "Man City are in a fortunate position where they can look at the likes of Kevin De Bryune and Erling Haaland's of this world and you can make that decision
