Erling Haaland has Man City request for 'huge' Liverpool FC game

Erling Haaland wants Manchester City to be brave when they head to Anfield for 'one of the biggest games in England'.

Liverpool have been the main rivals to City while Pep Guardiola has been in charge, with Jurgen Klopp winning the one Premier League title in the last six years that the Blues didn't hoover up. City trail the Merseyside club by a point this year ahead of their meeting with Liverpool on Sunday.

City have only won once at Anfield since 2003, and that came when no fans were allowed inside the stadium in 2021. After a 1-1 draw at the Etihad earlier in the campaign, both teams know this match could be decisive in the title race.

Before then, they are both involved in Europe; City take on Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday while Liverpool travel to Sparta Prague on Thursday in the Europe League. Haaland echoed the sentiments of his manager by focusing on the next game rather than being distracted by the weekend, although he did not shy away from the magnitude of it.

“First of all I haven't thought anything of that game until you asked me now, I focus on Copenhagen right now, but yeah it's a massive game," he said. "It's going to be a huge game and one of the biggest games in England, so we have to be ready for the game. We have to be brave and we have to play at our best because they have been really good this season."
