Erling Haaland details the 'most important thing' driving Man City's quest for the treble

Erling Haaland believes the elite mindset at Manchester City has driven his incredible debut campaign in the Premier League following Sunday's trophy lift.

City were confirmed as Premier League champions for a third consecutive season over the weekend, lifting the trophy at the Etihad on Sunday following Arsenal's defeat at Nottingham Forest the day before. Many among the squad were picking up the latest of many major honours, but for Haaland it is his first since joining from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Haaland's 36 goals have played a major part in this season's triumph, with the Norwegian exceeding all expectations during his first season in England. And speaking ahead of Wednesday evening's trip to Brighton, he praised everyone involved with the club for driving him on.

“The environment allows me to be myself every day,” Haaland told City’s media team. “There are hungry people around me that want to become better every single day and want to help me to become better every single day. That is where everything starts from.

“From Pep to the physios to everyone, we want to help each other. We want to have a good time together and we want to make every single person in the club better. That is the most important thing.

“Lifting the title was an unreal feeling. A fantastic moment. It was so nice to lift the trophy and I am so happy. I was just happy all of the time and smiling. I woke up in the morning with a big smile and I went to bed with a big smile! It was just a happy day.”
