Erik ten Hag told he's 'late to the party' as Manchester United transfer struggles continue

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been told he is 'late to the party' after a disappointing transfer window so far.

The Reds have signed Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen this summer and are looking to add further new players before the window closes on September 1. United had their pre-season optimism pulled out from underneath them as they lost 2-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford during Ten Hag's first competitive game for the club.

That defeat appears to have sparked the club in to life after the MEN broke the news that United and Juventus had agreed a fee in principle for the transfer of Adrien Rabiot.

The Frenkie de Jong transfer saga has rumbled on all summer and although the club have not completely given up hope on signing the player, they are now pursuing alternatives should a deal for the Dutchman not materialise in time. However, with barely three weeks left until the window closes, United now find themselves in a race against time.

Florent Malouda, the former Chelsea player, believes that United lack the stability and structure that the rest of their rivals have.

Malouda told Ladbrokes: "It's really strange when it comes to Manchester United at the moment. When you look at the value of all of the players they have at the club, there's some real quality in there. But they're just completely lacking in confidence, and that lack in confidence comes from the lack of results.
