Erik ten Hag sets Manchester United record after securing 50th win as manager

Erik ten Hag chalked up his 50th victory as Manchester United manager following his side's last-gasp 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, becoming the fastest boss in the club's history to reach a half-century of wins.

Bruno Fernandes, less than a week after Roy Keane called for Ten Hag to strip him of the captaincy, stepped up when United needed their captain most, scoring a stoppage-time winner. His effort from just inside the box was too hot for Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno to handle, with the German parrying it into the goal.

It secured a priceless victory for United and Ten Hag, who both arrived in the capital with the weight of the world on their shoulders after a difficult week. United will now be looking to build on Saturday's victory when they face FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Ernest Mangnall, who was United manager between 1903 and 1912, previously held the record for being the fastest Reds boss in history to reach 50 wins, hitting that landmark after 79 games at the helm. It means Ten Hag has cemented his place in the club's history books after what could only be described as a priceless win.

Forty-nine of Ten Hag's first 50 wins as United manager have been secured in normal time, with only one of them
