Erik ten Hag's Manchester United future - Have your say as pressure builds after Tottenham loss

Questions are once again being raised over the future of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after his side put in a limp display in a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Ten Hag's position came under scrutiny at the end of last season as United finished a record low eighth place in the Premier League table.

Critics of the United boss felt his side lacked a clear philosophy that supporters could buy into despite some disappointing results.

However, supporters of the Dutchman pointed at his side's dismal injury record last season and felt he had earned the right to be backed this summer in the hope the club's fortunes would change.

That theory was backed up in United's FA Cup final win over Man City in May, as it meant the Dutchman followed up his Carabao Cup success in his first season in charge with another trophy in his second campaign at the helm.

United's owners held talks with other managers in the summer but it was decided that they would retain their faith in Ten Hag heading into this season.

Ten Hag was backed in the summer transfer market with the signings of Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs De Ligt, Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee and the pressure was on for United to hit the ground running in the Premier League.

But while a 1-0 win over Fulham on the opening night of the season gave them some early promise, United have claimed just four points from the following five matches.

Yesterday's humiliating defeat to Spurs already leaves them eight points adrift of league leaders
