Erik ten Hag will speak to the press on Friday afternoon ahead of Manchester United's return to action.

United will travel up north to face Newcastle United as the Magpies look to exact revenge for the Carabao Cup final defeat. There is a lot on the line, too, as Eddie Howe's side can go above United on goal difference should they win.

Ten Hag goes into the match amid a growing injury crisis and could be without up to eight players. The suspended Casemiro as well as the sidelined Christian Eriksen, Alejandro Garnacho and Tom Heaton are all definitely out. Meanwhile, Marcel Sabitzer, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are all doubtful.

Losing top-scorer Rashford would be a particularly tough blow. The forward picked up a knock last time out against Fulham and pulled out of the England squad as a result. Ten Hag will likely clear up if he's available as well as the injury status of the rest of his squad.
