Erik ten Hag must get rid of seven more Manchester United players this summer transfer window
The exodus has begun at Manchester United after the worst season at the club for decades.
United recorded their lowest ever Premier League points total last season and Erik ten Hag is facing the biggest challenge of his career to transform the club's fortunes. Ten Hag has joined United on a three-year contract with the option of an additional year.
Ahead of the new season, Ten Hag will new look to freshen up the squad with multiple new signings this summer, while plenty of outgoings are expected. Lee Grant, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani are all leaving United upon the expiration of their contracts on June 30, but which other players need to leave? Dean Henderson
The Manchester Evening News revealed last month that Dean Henderson was closing in on a summer move to Newcastle after the North East club tried to sign him on loan in January. Henderson wants to leave United and he should be allowed to do so.
Henderson, 25, played just three times for United last season with David de Gea emphatically reclaiming the No.1 spot at Old Trafford and it seems the latter is guaranteed to start under Ten Hag, despite familiar doubts over his distribution.
United have a poor record of selling players for profit, but they should get a reasonable fee for academy product Henderson.
Axel Tuanzebe
Another academy graduate who has really failed to make the grade at Old Trafford, Axel Tuanzebe has gone on loan to Aston Villa on three separate occasions during his time at the club and he embarked on another loan to Napoli in January.
