Erik ten Hag makes Pep Guardiola gesture after derby defeat as Manchester United Europa League squad named

Erik ten Hag has thanked Pep Guardiola and Manchester City "for the lesson" they handed his Manchester United side at the Etihad on Sunday.
United were beaten 6-3 in the derby, only salvaging some respect with two late Anthony Martial goals having been 6-1 down in the closing stages.
It was the fourth defeat in nine games for Ten Hag as United manager and the second time they've been beaten heavily this season, having also lost 4-0 at Brentford in August.

Raphael Varane has not been named in Manchester United's 22-man squad to play Omonia on Thursday night.
Varane sustained an injury against Manchester City at the weekend and he did not take part in training at Carrington on Wednesday morning, which took place before Erik ten Hag confirmed he was sidelined at his pre-match press conference.
"Yes [I expect him back soon] in the case of Rapha [Varane], we hope," Ten Hag said when asked for United's team news, confirming the MEN's exclusive that his injury was not serious. "Harry [Maguire] will take a little bit longer, the other two [Van de Beek and Wan-Bissaka] I cannot give a prognosis."
