Erik ten Hag makes decision on Hannibal Mejbri future at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag has agreed to send Hannibal Mejbri out on loan this summer in order to aid the youngster's development and get meaningful playing time this season.

The Manchester Evening News understands that Hannibal could leave United on loan in the coming days with interest in the Tunisian teenager high.

It is understood that three Championship clubs have made provisional offers to take the 19-year-old on loan, with one unnamed side leading the way to getting a deal done.

The Tunisian international featured in three pre-season matches for United this summer, but didn't start a single one of those games amid plenty of competition in his favoured attacking-midfield role.

United believe a loan move would be the best step for Hannibal in his development plan in order to get a proper taste of senior football, and any club successful in their pursuit of the teenager will need to be able to guarantee regular playing time to the academy graduate.

Hannibal is also keen on a move as he appreciates the need to be playing regular football ahead of the World Cup at the end of the year.

The teenager has only made three senior appearances for United in his career so far, but has been a regular for his national team with 16 appearances to his name since making his debut in June of last year.

Hannibal is well-placed to receive a call-up to their World Cup squad, with Tunisia to face Denmark, Australia and the country of his birth, France, in Group D.
