Erik ten Hag has heeded Gary Neville's Manchester United transfer warning
Manchester United's start to the summer transfer window was infuriatingly slow to say the least.
Weeks went by as nearly all of their Premier League rivals strengthened ahead of next season. But, a mixture of takeover indecision and other clubs' stubbornness made United's progress tricky.
This week may not have seen an end to the takeover saga but it has at least got the ball rolling in the transfer market. On Wednesday, Mason Mount was officially announced as a United player.

One of the worst kept secrets, Mount's arrival settled some concerns about United's vulnerability in the window. Of course there is still more to do and former Red Gary Neville summed up the clear priorities last month.
"You have got to start [the season] with a centre-forward and a goalkeeper," he warned. "If you don't have those two positions fixed in a football team you are massively struggling. United are massively struggling particularly up front but it has come to the time where they have to get a top goalkeeper.
"That FA Cup final said it to us all. I don't like mentioning it too much but the second goal shouldn't have gone in the back of the net. The reality of it is, David de Gea has had a great career at United, he has been a fantastic goalkeeper. But now is the time for him to be challenged and get someone in to be that No.1."
Fortunately for Neville, Ten Hag appears to have listened to his warning and taken steps to address both positions. MEN Sport understands the Reds' chief negotiator this summer, John Murtough, has been in extensive talks
