Erik ten Hag has already told Dean Henderson his plan amid Nottingham Forest transfer interest

Nottingham Forest want to sign Manchester United's Dean Henderson and Erik ten Hag has already outlined his plans to thrash out the goalkeeper's future.

MEN Sport reported that Forest are prepared to pay up to £30million for the England shot-stopper, who hasn't played for them since January. Forest secured their Premier League status last weekend and plan to try to sign Henderson permanently.

United have Henderson under contract until 2025, with the option of a further year. He earns around £110,000-a-week at United and his wages for the season were completely covered by Forest.

Uncertainty over David de Gea's long-term future could play into he decision-making with Henderson. The Spaniard is in talks to extend his contract but there uncertainty over his No.1 role at United beyond this season.

At the start of the season, Henderson revealed he tried to leave Old Trafford before Ten Hag arrived. The pair spoke for the first time during a video call in January when Ten Hag gauged whether Henderson would return early from his loan as Martin Dubravka had returned to Newcastle.

The Dutchman has already insisted that no decision will be made on his future until the season ends. Speaking just after Christmas, Ten Hag insisted no decisions had been made on Henderson's future.

"No, I wouldn't give that decision already now, he said in December. “I think he is on a loan for one season.

“During the season, when the season is coming to an end, we will take a decision and that depends on a lot of factors. He is playing really well at Nottingham Forest."
