Erik ten Hag gets extra backing with Manchester United pre-season tour plans
Manchester United are planning to return to the United States for their pre-season tour and are expected to spend part of it back in San Diego.
United's expected return to southern California is additional backing for manager Erik ten Hag after they spent six days training at the University of California San Diego during their 2023 tour.
The United youngsters played a friendly against Wrexham at the Snapdragon Stadium and it is understood the club are planning to field a first-team XI in a friendly at the stadium in July.
Following a deal with US technology company Qualcomm, the Snapdragon logo will adorn the United shirt from next season as their new sponsor.

Ten Hag's future has come under scrutiny in recent months as United have lost more games than they have won this season, gone out of the Champions League and the League Cup, and are eighth in the Premier League table.
Impending investment from the INEOS Group is awaiting regulatory approval and Ten Hag enthused about his "very positive" meetings with Sir Jim Ratcliffe last week.
United played against Arsenal, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in New Jersey, Houston and Las Vegas last summer. The decision to end the tour on the West Coast - where there is an eight-hour time difference with the UK - caused some surprise as United have attempted to alleviate players' jet lag on past Stateside tours by ending them on the East Coast.
The 2024 trip would mark the 10th time United have toured the United States this century.
