Erik ten Hag explains his approach with Manchester United forwards Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial

Manchester United fell to their tenth defeat of the season on Saturday after losing 1-0 at Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game at St James' Park, getting on the end of Kieran Trippier's second-half cross to tap home from close range. Antony thought he'd equalised late on but his effort was ruled out after Harry Maguire was judged to have been in an offside position when the ball deflected off of him.

Erik ten Hag's side have now lost against all four of the top-eight opposition they have played in the Premier League. They face Chelsea and Bournemouth at home in the next week.

Rashford form

The 26-year-old has scored two goals in 18 United games this season and only one from open play - against Arsenal on September 3.

"Yeah, I know this issue's coming up and Marcus is investing a lot," Ten Hag said. "We support him and he will return to his form."
