Erik ten Hag confirms injury boost as Manchester United drawn against Wigan in FA Cup

Manchester United will encounter another quick turnaround as the winter schedule continues at a pace.

A winner from Anthony Gordon sentenced United to defeat in their Premier League match against Newcastle on Saturday night. Erik ten Hag and his players will have no time to rest, though, as they get ready to take on Chelsea at Old Trafford on Wednesday night (8.15pm).

Ten Hag says Tyrell Malacia will be available "at short notice" following a setback with his troublesome knee injury. Malacia - the first signing Ten Hag made - has yet to feature for United this season.

After winning the Carabao Cup last term, United returned to Wembley and also made it to the FA Cup showpiece. However, they came unstuck beneath the famous arch against neighbours Manchester City.
