Eric Bailly opens up on Manchester United spell following Marseille loan move
Eric Bailly has opened up on his time at Manchester United following his loan move to French side Marseille.
The Ivorian defender has been granted a move to Ligue 1 after a difficult few seasons at Old Trafford. Bailly made just 32 appearances in the Premier League over four campaigns and his spell in France can be made permanent by Marseille should it go well.
Last season he agreed with a United fan on social media who had pleaded with Ralf Rangnick to give Bailly a chance in the first team. That did not come though and, with United signing Lisandro Martinez in the summer, the 28-year-old only slid further down the defensive pecking order.

At his new club, Bailly has already made two appearances against Clermont and Nice, having been benched for the opening fixture at AJ Auxerre. The centre-back will make his return to England on Wednesday night as Marseille travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.
Ahead of the fixture, Bailly opened up on his time at the Theatre of Dreams. Speaking to La Provence, he said: "My time at Manchester United was very good.
"I had the chance to win trophies. They progressed in various areas and I wish them good luck."
During his spell in Manchester, Bailly won the Europa League, League Cup and Community Shield under the management of Jose Mourinho. United kick off their own European journey on Thursday night when they host Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.
