Enugu Rangers signs six players, sends six on loan

Enugu Rangers’ attempt at qualifying for the continent in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season has been boosted by the arrival of six new players ahead of the NPFL’s resumption on February 14.

According to Enugu Rangers’ Media Officer, Norbert Okolie, the six new players are Uchenna Ezeala, a central defender, who joined from Go-Round FC; Zulkifilu Mohammed Rabiu, a support striker from Lobi Stars; Odo Joshua Chidiebere, a central attacker, who can also operate from both flanks. Chidiebere is joining the Flying Antelopes from the Saudi Arabian league.

The other new stars are Ogbodo Kelechi Emmanuel, a midfielder from Disdeft Football Academy; Aniji Ifeanyichukwu Michael, an attacking midfielder from Flying Angels F.C and Nebo Tochukwu Kingsley, a left-winger, who joins from Olicon Rovers F.C of Enugu.

Okolie said the new players will replace Joel Okoro, Leonard Ugochukwu, Malachi Ohawume, Jonas Emmanuel, Barnabas Ingya, and a few others, who have been sent on loan to other clubs in the premier and lower leagues.

Speaking on the new players, Enugu Rangers’ CEO, Amobi Ezeaku, described them as quality legs that would help the coaching crew get the right mix to challenge for honours in both the league and federation cup.
