Enrol now for the University of Salford’s pioneering Public Health Practitioner apprenticeship

The vital role of the public health sector to our region, the UK and beyond, was thrown into the sharpest relief during the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

Keynote public messaging from Sir Chris Whitty, Jonathan Van-Tam and others galvanised the country to work together for the greater public good. Employers swiftly adapted their factories to produce essential equipment, staff upskilled to help at vaccination clinics and restaurants rustled up hearty meals for key workers.

Whilst the pandemic gives only a snapshot of the importance of this sector, it has left a legacy of public health awareness, and an increasing number of people keen to understand more and to diversify their own skills. So it's little surprise that the trail-blazing degree-level Public Health Practitioner apprenticeship offered by the University of Salford, is piquing the interest of both organisations and their staff.

The apprenticeship - the first of its kind to be launched back in 2019 - has been developed through consultation with Public Health England and employers working in a variety of public health related fields, enabling successful graduates to work in the field as registered public health practitioners.
