England's 2010 U17 European Championship winners - where are they now?

On May 30, 2010, England’s U17s were crowned European Championship winners.

After winning all three of their Group B games, John Peacock’s side defeated France to book their spot in the final against Spain.

Spain took an early lead through Gerard Deulofeu, but England battled back to win 2-1 and lift the trophy.

12 years have passed since England won the competition and the players should now be in their prime.

Sam Johnstone

Johnstone has picked up three England caps and is often included in Gareth Southgate’s squads. He is on the verge of a move to Crystal Palace, per BBC.

Bruno Pilatos

Unfortunately Pilatos did not make the grade as a professional footballer. He was listed as playing for Bishop Auckland FC in the English ninth tier in 2020/21, but no longer appears on their website.

Luke Garbutt

Garbutt only made 12 appearances for Everton before leaving the club in 2020.

Conor Coady
