England "redefining how Test cricket is played" under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum

England have enjoyed a perfect start to life under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, defeating World Test Champions New Zealand 3-0.

Stokes has replaced Joe Root as captain after he stood down in April, while McCullum was appointed Test coach after Chris Silverwood was sacked following the Ashes. Together, the pair have vowed to get England playing a positive brand of cricket, with Stokes stating his side are "in the entertainment business not the sporting business".

And England played brilliantly against New Zealand, recording their first series whitewash at home since a 2-0 victory over the same opponents in 2013. In the process, England successfully chased totals of over 250 in all three Tests, the first time a side has ever managed to do so in a single series.

And India star Dinesh Karthik believes England are "redefining how Test cricket is played" under Stokes and McCullum. The 37-year-old was full of praise for England, labelling them "great to watch" and looking forward to the upcoming Test against India.

England are currently 2-1 down against India, with the two sides playing four Tests last summer. However, the fifth Test was cancelled at the last minute due to fears of a Covid outbreak within the camp and has been rescheduled to take place this year.
