England 2-1 USA: Fans divided after Megan Rapinoe booed off at Wembley

USA star Megan Rapinoe was booed as she departed the pitch against England at Wembley – much to the dissatisfaction of some fans. 

The forward was substituted in the 83rd minute for 17-year-old Alyssa Thompson, who became the youngest debutant for the US Women’s National Team since Mal Pugh in 2016. 

As Rapinoe ran off, a number of fans could be heard jeering the former Ballon d’Or winner, prompting many to question whether such booing was justified.
