Emmerdale spoilers sees Emma Barton return, gun ordeal and terrifying barn explosion

Emmerdale is bracing for a dramatic week as a barn fire threatens several lives. Viewers of the popular ITV soap have witnessed Moira Dingle's (portrayed by Natalie J. Robb) health decline significantly in recent episodes.

However, when an innocent interaction with Nate Robsinson (Jurell Carter) is misinterpreted, her behaviour takes a turn for the worse. In the coming week, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) spots his wife Moira and son Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) from an unfortunate angle and jumps to the conclusion that they are kissing - he immediately seeks clarification.

In response, he assaults his son Nate, which triggers unsettling memories for Moira. Shaken and stressed by the unfolding events, she retaliates by slapping Cain, who then leaves.

Shortly after, Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) arrives at the barn to taunt Moira but quickly feels sympathy for her when she doesn't respond to her jibes. Before long, a distressed Moira locks the barn, mistaking Emma for Ruby.

The situation escalates alarmingly when Moira fires a warning shot into the air, scaring Ruby, as the shot hits a light bulb and sparks a fire.

A struggle for the shotgun results in Moira knocking Ruby unconscious. As Moira comes out of her daze, she is left disoriented.

The barn rapidly becomes engulfed in flames as Moira stands frozen next to Ruby's body. Seeing smoke billowing from the barn in the distance, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) attempts to contact Moira.

The actress revealed to The MEN and other media outlets: "Moira has no idea what she's doing. The gun comes out and suddenly the PTSD comes out.

"She then starts to see Emma's face on Ruby's face, Ruby doesn't know what is going on, I have totally lost the plot."
