Emmerdale's Tom King 'doesn't go to prison' in devastating twist - and fans are livid

Emmerdale's villainous character Tom King, portrayed by James Chase, has finally been charged, although viewers remain sceptical about his potential imprisonment.

The soap antagonist has stirred up a significant amount of turmoil over the past year, notably through his abusive treatment of his wife Belle Dingle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper.

Belle eventually exposed the truth to her family and the police, despite Tom's efforts to conceal his actions, including disposing of a tablet containing incriminating footage. Despite the tablet being found in a severely damaged state, the police tech team managed to access its contents after some time.

Meanwhile, Belle's mental health deteriorated, leading her to admit herself into a mental health facility. This week, however, saw Belle return to the village, distressed by Tom's continued freedom.

Emmerdale fans are split over the twist that's seen Tom being charged, with many taking to social media to share their predictions. While some viewers are elated at the charge, others on an Emmerdale Facebook fan group speculate this is not the finale for his storyline.

One member posted: "Tom King is charged." Yet in the thread, opinions were shared that he might not
